Promoting Wellness and Health
The Wheeler Recreation Center provides current UB students, faculty and staff with recreational and fitness opportunities that are geared to increase an individual’s overall health and well-being.
Our recreational and sports programs are aimed at promoting wellness among the UB community of students, faculty and staff. Recreation and leisure activities offered at UB focus on integrating mind and body through positive traditional and non-traditional recreation and sports activities.
The Wheeler Recreation Center provides current UB students, faculty, and staff with recreational and fitness opportunities that are geared to increase an individual’s overall health and well-being.
Separate locker rooms are provided for men and women and a co-ed steam room located on the pool deck. The Recreation Center offers a variety of recreational programming consisting of intramural sports and wellness programs.
Our facilities include:
- 6-lane 25-meter swimming pool
- 3 multipurpose courts for activities such as volleyball, soccer, flag-football, and basketball
- Weight room and cardio room
- Racquetball court
- Multi-Purpose room
Wheeler Recreation Center Hours
Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-10 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 12-5 p.m.
Summer Hours
Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Pump some iron in our weight room. We offer the following stationary machines:

- Multipurpose benches and squat racks
Our weight room also includes fitness bars, medicine balls, ab rollers, stability balls, and dumbbells ranging from 5lbs to 50lbs.
